Interviewing

The small things in life are so sweet. Vanilla Macadamia Kona Coffee for breakfast. Highland dancing and the Caber Toss at the Scottish Society. Fresh cut grass. Perogies, bacon, zucchini and avocado for supper (sadly, no sour-cream).

I have been looking for a new job for a few weeks now, this last week I dropped off 3 resumes at various greenhouses and nurseries close to home. Before I even arrived home, I got a phone call from Millcreek Nurseries wanting to set up an interview. Saturday morning I went to the nursery at 9 for the interview. It went very well.  If I am offered it on Monday,I am excited to take the position. There is a substantial pay cut, but there is more room for advancement in years to come within the nursery. I am also able to spend more time talking to people and it will challenge my brain and education. If I choose to start my own company the experience of working here will also be invaluable.

My mom also found an opportunity with the city of Lacombe. so... maybe I will be moving. Who Knows. Only God knows my future, so please pray with me as i decide when and where to go.

Thankyou!

God's hand at work.

My friend Chelsea from high school was baptized this sunday! Her 'mentor' and friend Carolyn came up for the baptism and was/is a huge spiritual support to chelsea. It is amazing to see friends come to the Lord in HIS perfect timing.

She's taking the plunge. Professing her faith and showing to her family and friends that this is her life. Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus for listening to the prayers and for using young high school girls and youth group to plant a seed in her life. You, Lord planted, You watered, You grew the seed into a mature, life giving Christian life!

We have had crazy weather in the Edmonton area this last week. I have wanted to capture some of the cloud formations of camera and finally took the opportunity even though it is 10 o clock at night and it's my bed time. ;) for the last week these sights have been very common. Storm cells blowing in, POURING rain and sometimes lingering, but mostly going on south and making way for the next one.

I am so sick of the rain and the dark clouds. I want Alberta Sunshine and Hot Summer days!!!!

But, I think God has been showing me that He knows what is best and that there is beauty and purpose in the things that He does. Especially when they are not in MY plans. He has a reason and I'm learning to trust Him and I'm trying to make a habit of finding out what those reasons are and where the beauty is in the different situations.

Chao.

Pictures.

This is my new Crocheting project. There are not enough hours in the evening for me to work on it. every time the colour changes I am so excited and I lay it out and see how it has changed.

We had Noni and Angie (our neighbour ladies) over to celebrate Angie's birthday. Barbeque and Ice Cream Cake... yummy yummy. They have been so good to me. They make sure I come home from work and have me over for dinner and to watch the hockey games.  They are a blessing to this lonely house-sitter.

SASKATCHEWAN and BEYOND.

The last couple weeks have been busy for me. I have been to Saskatchewan, worked around 10 hours of overtime, applied for a new job, made my 1st loaf of banana bread.

The wedding was in the beautiful little city of Moose Jaw, the reception was in Regina. My friend Jody Skinner and I drove 8 hours Friday through beautiful farm land, rolling hills and a few miles of flat farmland. Friday night we stayed with Jessie and AJ (thanks again guys!) they live in the same yard as the family greenhouse, It was beautiful and they were so hospitable! Their puppy Knox was very friendly also! The wedding was beautiful, simple and people focused. Jody and I had a few detours and arguments with the GPS but we enjoyed the scenery and the adventures that came. Saturday night after the reception we stayed with some PRBI alumni girls. The McGilvary girls and Amy Danyluk, thanks so much ladies, we feel had that we couldn't stay and chat a little more.

I have applied for an Arborist position with the town of Beaumont, I haven't heard anything in almost 2 weeks so I don't think I got the job. But I will keep looking because I don't want to climb anymore. I realized this the last couple weeks when I was up a tree without a passion for the job anymore. I love tree work but I don't want to be doing the climbing and cutting. I can see a new direction for myself and it's exciting. SCARY, but exciting! I will keep you all posted on the new opportunities/ dreams that come down the pipe.

God is soo GOOD!

This morning at church I was taught about commitment. Commitment shows your values, it shapes your life day to day and it reveals where your life is headed. Looking at the lack of commitment in my life right now is a little bit of a reality check. I am not committing to things because my evenings are so unpredictable I work late, and I am so physically exhausted that I don't make any plans for after work. I have just committed to a new church and now that makes only 2 commitments in my life. Work, and Church. I want to have more commitments and some other areas to be involved in people's lives, to love them, serve them and be impacted by them.

God's goodness has surprised me yet again today. I should have come to expect it and not be so surprised by his great love and provision for not only our needs, but our wants. I have been praying for a couple years for a place to spend time with horses. I have thought of volunteering at a boarding center, leasing a horse and I've even thought about just taking a drive and 'trespassing' to visit some random horses. In that last 3 weeks God has given me 5 horses at two different acreages to go and visit.

Today I met the first two horses. Belle and Tessa they are around 7 years old and need some training/love. They are saddle broke and are very gentle with people but they are not very experienced in riding. Last year they were ridden only about 6 times. I would like to change that for them this year.

At church today I was chatting with a young mom when a beautiful blonde young woman grabbed my arm and said "Amy Provencher, I haven't seen you in a long time!!! ". It was my high school friend Chelsea Robinson. It is a blessing and encouragement to see her and catch up with her. Completely orchestrated by God. She has just recently committed her life to Christ, is being baptized in 2 weeks and is moving away to Africa in August. I reconnected with her just in time. Thank you God! Chelsea is a grade 5 teacher and has an incredible opportunity to teach in Africa for 3 years! Now I will have another friend overseas to visit!

God's goodness just shows me how much He loves us! It is life changing!
